All things poofy, red and pink!

My regular readers will remember me swooning over THAT Penoze dress, probably the most flattering and comfy dress I ever wore. Well, my love for Penoze has a sequel!
Penoze is a company specializing in petticoats and they have recently added a few vintage-inspired pieces to their collection, such as the aforementioned stunning wiggle dress.

Last month they were kind enough to send me a little package for review. It seems that they know me well, because the first colours I saw in there were red, black and giant poof of powder pink!  All this resolved itself into a lovely black full circle skirt, a red top and a powder pink mesh petticoat.

Combining them all into one outfit was a bit of a challenge. I am pretty conservative with my colour mixes, so this was an excellent excuse to make myself take more risks. I have to say that I am very pleased with the results, especially after I added the red seamed stockings!

The top is the same wonderful cut and fabric as THAT Penoze dress, it is figure hugging and very flattering and of course, I am as big fan of it as I am as of the dress. I love how the fake wrap effect was achieved simply by acutally having two layers, which of course, work as gentle shapewear.  It also features ¾ sleeves.

The full circle skirt is very light, made of pure cotton and is truly made for summer days. It comes with its own belt, which is always a bonus! I wore it to town yesterday and it was wonderfully breezy.

I saved the petticoat for last, because, for one, I first had to go give it a little hug. Have I mentioned how pink it is? And how gloriously poofy? It is incredibly soft to the touch and creates a wonderful volume. I especially appreciate the thin satin ribbon that joins the two layers of fine mesh and the big satin bow that can be detached from the back of the skirt.
I wore it to a concert last week with bare legs, and I think I should pair it with a slip underneath in the future as the bare legs kind of made it bunch up a little bit. I am seriously in love with this petticoat and all the gorgeous detailing on it, it is such a fantastic, indulgent and ladylike piece that makes me feel like a princess!

The hair flower is part of my latest addition to my hair toys drawer, and I think it makes a wonderful addition to my summer hairstyles!

Until next time!
