Demon Huntress pt 1- Dragonfly Hoodie

Those of you who follow me on Facebook (Venusmantrap) have seen a few shots of this hoodie from The Gothic Shop, and those of you who follow me on Instagram (@pupastis)  have seen a whole lot more, since I never seem to be taking it off.  It is all warm and fleecy inside, all GaF on the outside, and is really super comfortable.

I haven’t really been wearing the hood unbuttoned, even though the buttons are a nice touch, and having it unbuttoned gives it a sort of anime-ish charm Punk Rave seems to be cultivating. As with all of their pieces, this one is also excellently made, and full of really cute details: The mesh sleeves are a nice touch, but the mirrored patterns on the outside of the hoodie and the bottom pieces, as well as identical pocket and hoodie inside mesh really make this piece something different and special.  It’s a perfect piece for everyday wear, and hits that sweet spot of daily-appropriate eccentricity.

When I was putting together this Demon Huntress, I wanted to create a different kind of antihero/hero/villain character. Now, I am all for spandex and corsets and looking good when kicking ass, but, alas, it is not always practical.  This is why I wanted to do a Demon Huntress who looks good and is still battle-ready.

Villy commented that I achieved a computer-game character look, and I won’t deny I had a few computer and anime characters as inspiration for the sets.
Tajana was kind enough, once again, not only to be set mistress, but also provided the armour pieces and even tore apart her old armour and modified the shoulder pieces so I could use them.

I played around with a few more variations of this Demon Huntress, and I will be bringing them to you, along with a review of the items in the following days.

Until next time!
xoxo
