Hair goodies and pearl coat

Recently I had the chance of modelling some beautiful dresses for Brocade Budoir and working with one of the most creative photographers I ever met –Stasa Sahman.

We set the shoot in the Brocade Budoir itself, and I used the chance to get a few photos of my two obsessions- Collectif’s Pearl Coat, and The Black Cat Jewellery Store’slatest brainchild- hair sticks.

Much has been written about the coat, it has been praised and swooned over, and all I could do is join in on the swooning and the praise. It is beautiful, it is incredibly well tailored, I have waited for over 2 years to be able to get my grubby little paws on it and I pet it every time I open the closet, even now, 2 months later. And I refuse to put it in storage, even though there is no chance of me wearing it now that summer is fast approaching.

Instead, you get to hear all about hair sticks, and why those from The Black Cat are so great. So say we all.
I always wanted to have really long hair. I never seemed to have gotten there until about a year or so ago, when it finally reached my waist. And while long hair needs less care than short to keep it looking its best, it does get in the way, and even though I’ve been known to sport an occasional blogger bun, I dislike them strongly. I prefer to keep my hair in an old-fashioned twisted bun secured with bobby-pins and a hair stick.

Hair sticks are, when you are a long-haired like me, serious business (when you’re a friend of mine with classical length hair which also happens to be very thick, it’s beyond serious). They have to be well made, long enough to gather all your hair, but not too long so they don’t stick out on beyond your head on the other side like some weird antennae, and above all, they have to be pretty. Oh, and no snags. *shudders*

All of this checks out for the new Black Cat hair sticks. They are very well made, of high quality polished wood, about 15 cm in length, with semi-precious stone beads providing a wonderful counterbalance and hold. They are also so incredibly pretty, and Anna was kind enough to send me a matching pair of earrings and a matching bracelet to go with the hair stick. I tested it for several days, just to make sure it is as wonderful as it first seemed, and then handed it to my long-haired friend to hear what she says. She declared it one of the best hair sticks she ever tried, which is high praise indeed, seeing how I was dragged on a few of her hair-stick hunts, and know exactly what her hair does to any kind of hair toys.
The Black Cat have since also added them in different colours and variations, and I can’t wait to get my hands on them!

Until next time!

xoxo
