Gang of
four sang about loving a man in a uniform, but nobody ever said anything about
a girl!
In the
following weeks I will be bringing you some photos from my first collaboration
with Belsira, a lovely and playful brand that have seemed to hit exactly the
right spot when it comes to my preferences in fashion! There is vintage
inspired fashion, though with a more modern, pinup twist, there is fashion with
an echo of military influences, and there are some classic, timeless pieces
that every wardrobe needs. But you’ll have to wait a bit for all of those.
The first one I’ll be reviewing is the Military Dress with matching bolero jacket. Now, there is some discussion in my household as to whether this is a military or a navy inspired dress, but either way, it has a certain “stand up and salute” quality.
It’s been a
while since I donned an outfit like that, and I had immense fun with this
dress, as you can clearly see from the photos. The dress itself is made of a
scuba-like material, with just enough stretch to be figure hugging, while being
firm enough to keep form and shape. It features plain spaghetti straps, and has
no zipper or fastenings. It has contrast piping and embroidered stars, which is
a really nice touch. The jacket itself features a zipper, accent epaulettes
with stitching, as well as piping and buttons and stripes on the sleeves.
It was also
really comfortable to wear. We had strange, rainy and somewhat steamy day for
the shoot, and while I felt warm and comfortable, at no point did I feel too
hot in the dress. Well, at least not that in that way ;)
I think
this dress would make a really cute addition to any modern style pinup who
wants to play with a bit of a military imagery, but to me it will firmly take
the place as my new fav clubbing dress, because I feel like I could dance the
night away in it!
Until next time!
xoxo
